All you need to prep, correct, and perfect your complexion, with color-true shades and a variety of finishes.
At Bobbi Brown, we believe a beauty routine always begins with skin. The best products to prep skin for makeup include daily cleansers, toners, serums, and moisturizers. After you’ve thoroughly prepped your face with skincare products, use your favorite primer to maximize your makeup.
The steps of a full face of makeup start with prepping your face beforehand with skincare products and primer. Most full-face makeup routines include foundation, blush, mascara, lipstick, and eye shadow. It’s always important to use the right products, applying them correctly and in the proper amount to get the most out of them. To learn a full-face routine that will give you the look you’re going for, connect with our experts online or in person for makeup tips, tricks, and tutorials.
Controlling shine on the face is simple with the right routine and products. The first place to start is with skincare. Make sure to wash your face with a great cleanser and follow it up with the best moisturizer for your skin type. Then you can use a mattifying primer like our Primer Plus Mattifier to help keep your foundation looking better longer while controlling oil. Many of our face makeup products, such as Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15, offer a matte finish. Finally, finish up your look with an oil-absorbing powder like our Sheer Finish Pressed Powder to help keep shine in check.
Covering up spots on your face is possible with plenty of different makeup products, especially correctors and concealers. Our Skin Corrector Stick helps instantly neutralize dark circles and discoloration anywhere on the face. Then we recommend using our Skin Concealer Stick to help brighten skin, hide imperfections, and cover up discolorations on your face. These transformative sticks make good skin look easy, with a skin-fresh effect.
The length of time different types of makeup last on your face varies. Many of our products are made to be long-lasting. One example is our Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15, which offers 16-hour medium-to-full crease-free, buildable coverage while also moisturizing, helping conceal any discoloration, and reducing the appearance of pores. To help keep your look in place, have setting spray on hand.
Depending on your skin type, there are different makeup products that help with various skin concerns, especially for complexion. Certain foundations help keep excess oil and shine in check and are best with normal to oily skin, like our Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15. Other foundations, like our Intensive Serum Foundation SPF 40/30, boost moisture levels to help keep skin hydrated. With the proper skincare routine, you can keep skin hydrated and use most makeup, regardless of different skin types.
First, decide where to contour your face. For example, if you’re contouring your cheekbones, you’ll want to use a larger brush and apply foundation, bronzer, or highlighter (or whatever formula you prefer), starting at the lowest point of your cheekbone, and then blend toward your ear. Likewise, if you are contouring your nose, use a smaller brush and start applying makeup where your nose begins to meet your cheekbone, and then blend toward the tip of the nose. You may want to contour the chin and forehead, blending the makeup around the edges you want to define.
